Welcome!

Life in a Tweet: Uni on pause, work insanely busy, living with parents, trip to the UK in 4 months, bottom slightly too-big, spending slightly too-erratic.

Tomorrow marks the last day of my Easter holidays after a much needed eleven day break.  I've had such a lovely time relaxing with my family and just recovering from the general craziness that has been the past couple of months.  It feels like it's been go-go-go since Christmas and these past couple of days has really allowed me to catch my breath.

I now won't have another holiday (apart from the Ekka public holiday) between now and when Mum and I leave for our trip on the Friday 9th September (4 months, 1 week and 1 day away).  I know the time will just fly by (pun intended) but it still feels so far away.  If it weren't for the fact that I need to save like crazy then I would be wishing it was tomorrow!

There is still so much to organise for our trip and seeing as I'm not currently studying, I really have no valid excuse to not get moving.  I need to re-look at our itinerary (I think I've planned our route 20 times now!) and there is still some accommodation I need to book.  I want to start doing things like making a list of the places we're visiting and the history behind them plus catalogue any books that have inspired me to want to travel to these places.

That's kind of where this blog comes in.  I will be using this blog as a travel journal for the duration of our trip however I really wanted to record everything that comes before that too.  There is just so much planning and inspiration that goes into a trip like this and I wanted to remember the whole journey, not just the few short weeks we are away.

That's kind of why the blog title fits too.  It helps me to get connected with the journey of my life rather than the destination and keep myself grounded in the present.  Too often I find myself lost in a memory yet to happen and I want to learn to live in the ones I am creating now.

So if you have happened to stumble upon this blog, you'll find a diary of sorts full of book reviews, travel plans and the occasional ramblings on life in general.

Thanks for stopping by,
Miss K
